Build Strategy: Handling

Handling widens the green windows for the rev and the shift. A fast car with low Handling is harder to drive clean.

HandlingHandling is the steering-wheel icon in the Garage. It makes the car easier to drive by widening the timing windows for the rev at the start and for each shift.

High Power or high Torque with low Handling does the opposite: the car looks quicker on the stat bars and is harder to keep in the green. High Torque with low Handling also adds swerve on the start. See What the Car Stats Do.

Use Handling when the timeslip (the results screen after a race) shows a messy light or messy shifts, and the car's 1,000-foot time is already fine. A missed or late shift also does more Durability damage. See What Is Durability?.

How to add Handling

  1. Tap the garage icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap Parts.
  3. Tap and hold a part, then drag it onto the part already on the car. As you drag it up, the bars show the difference. Pick the part that keeps the Power or Torque you want and raises Handling.
  4. Drop it to equip it, or drag it back if you do not want it.
  5. On the next start, hold the pedal until the tachometer is in the green zone, and keep the arrow in front of the car straight and green. See How to Race.
  6. After the launch, tap anywhere on the screen to shift while the arrow is in the green zone.
  7. Run the race, then read the reaction time and the splits on the timeslip. A cleaner light and cleaner shifts are the sign the Handling is doing its job.

Power and Torque choices are in Build Strategy: Power and Torque.
