An upgrade makes a car or part you already own stronger. It is not the same as swapping to a different part. It costs Cash, the in-game money you earn from races (not Gold), and extra copies of that same car or part. Copies are duplicates you already own of that exact item.
How to upgrade
- Tap the garage icon at the bottom of the screen.
- In the Garage, tap Cars or Parts.
- Tap the car or part you want to upgrade.
- Tap Info.
- On the stats page, tap the upgrade button.
If the button is locked, you are short on Cash, short on copies, or that item is already at its current max. Swapping to a different part is in How to Change Cars or Parts.
